Laurentide Paint: High-Performance, Responsible, and Certified Products
By choosing Laurentide Paint, you are opting for high-quality Canadian products that meet strict Canadian environmental standards.
Made Here – Certified Canadian Manufacturing
All products manufactured by Laurentide Paint are certified Made Here, a certification that promotes the purchase of quality construction materials and other goods made in Canada for the residential market. Our products are proudly made in Shawinigan, Quebec, by a company that has been in the paint industry for three generations.
Société Laurentide, the parent company of Laurentide Paint, employs over 200 people across four plants in Quebec and New Brunswick, with its head office in Shawinigan since its founding in 1950.
Buying local also means reducing your ecological footprint!
Products of Québec – Supporting the Quebec Economy
The “Products of Québec” certification recognizes local expertise and promotes Quebec-made products through three certification marks that simplify product identification online and in-store. Laurentide Paint products are certified “Made in Québec”, and Boomerang paints are certified “Product of Québec”.
These certifications reflect our commitment to offering locally made products to Quebec consumers.
Laurentide Paint products are UL GREENGUARD certified. This certification, issued by U.S.-based Underwriters Laboratories (UL), verifies that a product emits low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air. It is commonly used for furniture, building materials, paints, and electronics, ensuring improved indoor air quality in homes, schools, offices, and other enclosed spaces.
This certification is sought after in sustainable construction projects and may contribute to LEED environmental certification.

Boomerang, the 100% responsible paint, is UL Canada certified, based on a life-cycle assessment of the product. Subjected to rigorous scientific testing and comprehensive audits, this certification confirms compliance with strict third-party environmental performance standards.
Every aspect is analyzed, materials, energy, manufacturing and operations, health and environment, product performance and use, and innovation in product stewardship.
Not only does this certification confirm that Boomerang is an eco-friendly product, it also ensures it is safe for consumers.
*Note: UL Canada certification does not apply to anti-corrosion paints or Tera Deck stains.
Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – Reducing Impact at Every Stage of the Life Cycle
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) allows manufacturers to communicate the environmental performance of their products across seven key indicators from production to end-of-life. Now widely adopted across North America, EPDs are based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data. Boomerang eco-responsible paints have a CSA-certified EPD, and using them in construction projects can contribute to LEED v4 certification credits under the Materials and Resources category.
“Boomerang paints are made from post-consumer paints and packaged in containers made from recycled and recyclable materials.
On average, Boomerang paints contain 43 grams of VOCs per liter, meeting national standards and LEED requirements.
VOC levels are measured using EPA 24 and ASTM D-2369 standard methods.
It’s important to note that these paints are made from post-consumer products with varying VOC levels—materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
In 2016, Laurentide Environnement collected 8 million kg of leftover paint and containers, 82% of which were recycled and diverted from landfills.”
The “Ici on recycle” certification recognizes Quebec companies that demonstrate strong performance in residual materials management. This program, run by Recyc-Québec, promotes the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Laurentide Paint is certified Level 3 – Performance+, showing that the company has achieved advanced status and excellent performance in managing its waste.
This certification confirms that the company is responsible, proactive, and committed to sustainable materials management. For example, the water used in our manufacturing processes is filtered and treated before returning to the system, just one of many ways our production methods are eco-responsible.
The AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) standard is a quality benchmark in North America used to evaluate coatings on aluminum architectural products like windows, doors, and curtain walls. For manufacturers of exterior coatings, meeting AAMA standards (such as AAMA 2603, 2604, or 2605) means the paint has been tested for durability, UV resistance, weathering, corrosion, and abrasion.
The higher the number, the greater the required performance (2605 being the most stringent).
This guarantees long-lasting, high-performance coatings suited to harsh outdoor conditions.
The CCC (China Compulsory Certification) is a mandatory safety and quality mark required by the Chinese government for certain products sold, imported, or used in China.
It ensures compliance with national technical and safety standards.
Applicable to items like electronics, toys, and vehicles, the CCC mark is required before these products can enter the Chinese market.
